Indigenous Trees Park

Indigenous Trees Park programme which started in 2020 under the Greening Kuwadzana Project aims to make our community park a knowledge resource base by planting indigenous trees with a purpose of preserving indigenous cultural heritage.

Yesterday, we had fun planting new trees and labeling them in celebration of the Indigenous Trees Day that is on the 15th of April every year.

We are grateful for the residents that came in numbers, overwhelming the cycle of having more people from different organisations than ordinary residents. We are also grateful for the organisations that were present including Youth Adapt, Sisonke Project, Young Volunteers for the Environment, Duri Green Finger Nursery, Let’s Green the Future, Kuwadzana Press, African Tree Seeds Group/Flora Africana, City of Harare Parks and City of Harare Kuwadzana District.

A big thank you to Flora Africana for donating 20 trees to the Greening Kuwadzana Project.

Together, we can improve the living conditions of high-density suburbs
